Revolution is Coming Soon 2012.
We’re having a revolution—elections are July 1st and we already have a supposed “winner.” Enrique Pena Nieto, candidate for the PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional or Revolutionary Institutional Party), ex-governor of the state of Mexico, a man responsible for 60 raped women and 90 “desaparecidos” (human disappearances,Atenco 2006), and an economic crisis in the “Estado de Mexico” (Mexico City) is already “sited” in the presidency chair.
Independent media, activism and leftist parties have gathered a lot of material proving that the current president (Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, PAN) and the candidate Enrique Pena Nieto (PRI) are connected by Mexico’s ex-president (Vincent Fox, PAN), for an apocryphal election process, which will be controlled by IFE (Instituto Federal Electoral or Federal Electoral Institute) but processed by Hildebrando Software Co. (named for the president’s brother-in-law). The PRI party is identified by its use of violence and corruption to control the laws and social systems in Mexico. For examples of this corruption and violence, google the following to find thousands of very graphical videos, information and blogs: Mexico ’68, Matanza Tlatelolco; EZLN, Chiapas 1994; Oaxaca 2006; Atenco 2006.
This candidate (EPN) has strong ties to Mexico’s most influential right parties and mass media company, TELEVISA (CEO Emilio Azcarraga), which controls 4 out of 6 total channels on Mexican open TV (the other 2 are controlled by TV-AZTECA, which is not as strongly connected). TELEVISA has accepted billion-dollar contracts from the PRI party during the pre-campaign and campaign, launching fake air time against the PAN and PRD (left party), serving their own interest while forgetting how strong of an impact they have on Mexican citizens who have no access to other sources of social media (only 30% of Mexico’s population has internet access, AMIPCI).
Mexico is in a very delicate situation; a movement called “yosoy132,” integrated mostly of university students, is taking a very important role in this “democratic process,” arguing that the PRI’s candidate, Enrique Pena Nieto, is an ignorant, corrupt and murderous public server. The group has offered printed, video and testimonial proof of the candidate’s corruption to the federal government, but they have been ignored due to the government’s obvious interest in the PAN and PRI parties. Proof can be found in thousands of official documents, videos and sites on google or youtube, and lately shared in Twitter and FaceBook.
This group (yosoy132) has been called “terrorists, apocryphal, fake, left-organized and paid,” but in actuality it is totally authentic, made up of students who are “intellectual and informed” about the country’s situation. The federal government and TV media (TELEVISA) are worried, afraid to be exposed, because “yosoy132” is fighting against them without weapons. They are asking for justice with the United States of Mexico’s Constitution in hand, specifying every violated article. For example, the 28th article of the Mexican Constitution says that monopolies and duopolies are not permitted; however, there are currently three huge monopolies in Mexico: TELEVISA, TELMEX and PEMEX.
TELEVISA, a unique TV company too strong to fight against because of its strong technological infrastructure, is valued at 1,508 MDD (CNN Expansion) and judged for its non-cultural programs and manipulated news.
TELMEX (Teléfonos de Mexico, valuated in 2,895MDD registering incomings for more than 12,000MDD last year) was sold by Salinas de Gortari (Mexico’s PRI president from 1988 to 1994) and bought by Carlos Slim (now the richest man in the world—surpassing even Bill Gates). 95% of the telephone, cell phone and internet services are provided by Telmex, which now possesses the infrastructure that used to be property of Mexican citizens before it was privatized (it’s as if someone were to sell public streets to a private owner).
PEMEX (Petroleos de México) is one of the 10 most important oil companies in the world, permitted to explore oil easements but ironically permitting foreign oil companies (North American and European) to explore oil fields in Mèxico. 50% of its explorations, prospection and contracts are given to foreign oil companies and the worst part is that oil is taken to Houston’s (and other cities’) refineries to bring it back as gasoline because PEMEX hasn`t invested in oil transformation technology (automatically increasing its cost)—It`s like exporting oranges and importing orange juice.
Perhaps you think this doesn`t affect the rest of the world but it does—if this guy “wins” the presidency, it`s going to torture the economic and cultural lifestyles of people worldwide. Mexico is about to become very violent if Enrique Peña Nieto wins the election because of his dark past, ignorance and ambition that will make people hungry but overall unhappy and unsatisfied.
These three factors will explode in the next six years if Mexico goes back to the PRI administration:
Drugs: The drug cartels will finally be monopolized; they will be totally controlled by the federal government but they still won’t legalize marijuana (not even for pharmaceutical use) and other drugs, so violence on the US-Mexican border will be stronger (today the death count is at 80,000 people due to the army and military fighting against the drug cartels), and drug trafficking to North America will increase month by month. So, if we already have millions of cocaine or marijuana addicts, we will have even more—this already huge societal problem will soon be even worse.
Oil: The United States of America consumed about 375 million gallons of gasoline per day in 2003 (Seattle Times), a product mostly made with Mexican oil. The cost of oil per gallon will increase at least 15% in the first year if Mexico returns to the PRI administration.
Natural Resources: Corn, vegetables, fruit and Latin American food will be more expensive. We import at least 40% of what we consume from Latin America (Bundesamt statistics), and if it doesn`t come from Latin America, its content has Latin American components or ingredients. With oil prices and the cost of importing food increasing, everything that “comes in” through Mexico’s border will increase, even if it comes from China.
Mexico needs attention. An important movement (yosoy132) is taking place against the oldest parties of the government system. Mexico already has an economic crisis; 60million out of 113million people live in poverty (INEGI)—that`s more than 50% of the population and it`s still growing. In just the past two years, the number of people in poverty has grown by seven million. The reason for this growing number is too simple: there are very few people who earn a lot of money and there are a lot more people who earn very little money. It`s very ironic that the richest man on Earth is from Mexico—over Obama, over Bush, over Bill Gates—the reason? His monopoly. “Producto Interno Bruto” WILL FALL to the ground.
Inform yourself and share this information. The best tools you have are books and the internet. We need a change, a revolution, a fair system and opportunities for everyone, even the poor, to have access to jobs, infrastructure and essential necessities such as water, energy and media sources. It’s unacceptable that in 2012 there are still people working for 1 dollar per day, dying of curable illnesses and hunger. Surrealism does exist, but reality also exists.
